Empfehlung des Monats: 'Space Team'

Spaceteam ist eine chaotische, kooperative Mobil-App, die das ideale Training für Impro-Spielende ist. Jeder hat ein eigenes Kontrollpanel mit absurden Reglern (wie „Elektronik-Schnapper umpolen“) auf dem Handy. Das Problem: Die Anweisungen, was zu tun ist, erscheinen auf den Bildschirmen der anderen Mitspielenden. Das Ergebnis? Ein Raum voller Leute, die sich gleichzeitig wirre Befehle entgegenschreien, während das Raumschiff langsam auseinanderfällt. Es trainiert Timing, Reden und vor allem Zuhören sowie das gemeinsame Scheitern in Stresssituationen. Und es macht sehr viel Spaß. Mehr Info

Exercise of the month: ‘The hardest game’

Introduced in a Jam by Rob Norman, this game requires three players on stage. Two of them (the wings) will each play a scene, while the one in the middle will be a part of both scenes. Each of the wings will be given a genre or an era for their scene, which should ideally be very different. One wing will start playing their scene with the middle player as their scene partner. At any time, the second wing can start their scene, also using the middle player as their partner. They can and should incorporate the physicality or the last line spoken as if it were part of their new scene. The other wing, however, is not part of their current scene. They can call out the weird behavior of the middle player, who then needs to justify it. Jumps go back and forth between the two scenes and usually end in chaos or a convergence of the scenes. It is hard - but fun!
